It is less than a year since the BATTLE OF ENDOR, where both the Emperor and Darth Vader died. Without leadership, the Empire spirals into chaos.

The Rebel Alliance has reformed as the NEW REPUBLIC, and now finally vies with the Empire on equal footing. Hundreds of Star Systems have quickly changed sides, making the Republic powerful, but also stretching their fleets to the limit.

Several factions within the IMPERIAL REMNANT struggle to either re-unify the Empire, end it forever, or grab hold of what they have and form new, smaller empires. It is a chaotic time, where the most competent and ruthless can win or lose everything.
