Continuity

The RP is set in the mid of 5 ABY, several months after the Battle of Endor and the end of Return of the Jedi.

Our timeline splits off at that point. Anything after the celebration at the end of Return of the Jedi is not linked to canon. This means the only knowledge you really need in order to play is the Original Trilogy.

Elements from both EU and the new canon are used in conjunction, and players are invited to use elements from either. Ongoing storylines will involve characters and factions from both timelines, and will increasingly diverge into our own alternate universe.
